TOP 225 OF 2025 + ALBUMS + YEAR END AWARDS

Another great year for music, more good to really good songs than great but the great songs are top shelf. It was another tough cut down to settle on the Top 225 Songs of 2025 but it has ended up an absolute banger of a playlist. The Soopasized version of the playlist is the true reflection of the best songs of the year topping out just over 500 songs and is also nothing but 🔥🔥 I thought last year was bad but this was no doubt the worst year of the 2020’s for Dance/EDM music there was so much bad lol made the great songs stand out but I was struggling hard to get through the New Music Friday playlists every week. Hopefully 2026 brings us back to the levels it was at in the early 2020’s. And we need more Dance/EDM bangers based on classic songs from the 70’s to now, there have been lots of great versions released but man I want one for every 70/80’s classic rock song. Every 90’s hit. A great dance remix makes old songs new again and are perfect for backyard fellowship in the summer when the sun goes down and the deck needs a new energy.
We had some great albums from all genres released this year although it was def slower than 2025. Morgan Wallen delivering another double album that has no skips on it and full of some of the best songs of the year. Maren Morris continuing her legacy of greatness with her banger album. Alex Warren with an unreal debut double album. Russell Dickerson smoked another home run album. Mariah Carey put out an awesome release. Cheat Codes absolutely crushed theirs. I’ll go over them at the end but to start it’s all about the Top 225 Songs of the Year. Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out I am gonna really enjoy listening to it. All the energy it takes to make it becomes worth it with the easy access to all my fav songs of the year. And combined with the other playlists I have made for other years, I have an unbelievable collection of bangers that I could be content with and conceivably don’t need to try and find new music. But I will haha I believe the energy of finding new music you love is something that keeps you young.
Now it’s time to unveil the Top 225 Songs of 2025 list, hopefully it brings some new songs to people’s attention that might not have heard it otherwise.

Had to give the #1 spot to my boy Will Smith for the amazing song, You Can Make It. Inspiring lyrics, 🔥 beat, great hook from Fridayy, epic choir, it all came together to make a fn great song. Will Smith still able to deliver this level of quality sealed it for me.Fire by Alessia Cara keeps building up to an incredible finish. Bar Named Jesus has an amazing message and both Doleac and Rhett just crush it. Love the guitar pickin in Leavin’s The Least I Could Do, def best song on the album. Ordinary was fun to belt out this summer haha Mozes by Sevin is straight 🔥🔥 and my pick for best Rap song of the year. If God could make a world out of the piano at the end, I would live there. Turn It To Praise has that epic feel that makes you sing with force. All I Forgot is a perfect duet and that hook hits hard. Just Stay The Night no doubt best Dance/EDM banger of the year and was much appreciated in a year of so much bad haha GOOD OLD DAYS is one you can’t help but sing as loud as you can. Bottomland is incredible and 1 I had to stop myself from listening to so I didn’t ruin it.
running showcases the best of what Maren Morris does, amazing melodies and epic singing. This Is My Time makes me feel like a King that can conquer any obstacle, def my 2025 hype song. LOVE SONG is another Bieber banger to add to the list. Horror Movie has such amazing singing I couldn’t justify it any lower. Sugarhoney is so fn good I was belting it out this year, just dont turn down the volume lol The Suburbs was 1 of my Songs of the Summer man that hook is so 🔥🔥 Blown away by how good Hey is, 1 of their best songs. It proves once and for all that the Backstreet Boys are a legitimately great band. Take The Country and Run is another song I had on repeat and was trying not to ruin by over listening. Big Thoughts is a fun bop and the singing is top shelf. Make A Liar is up there with my fav songs to sing this year just an awesome vibe to it. Good For Nothing is so fn good, really love the lyrics. Country in the Clouds has great energy to it and is so much fun to sing. Sally, When The Win Runs Out was another pick for my Song of the Summer, feels like a throwback to the 70’s/80’s classic rock it’s that good.
I’ve become a huge fan of Cat Burns, def crushed it with Theres Just Something About Her. Fn love Fire We Found it almost feels sharp like the vibe has an edge to it. cliche is another fun bop and now it reminds me of a Grey Cup win so that prob levels it up a bit haha GFY shouldn;t be this good but Julia Michaels always takes her songs to another level and turned this one into an epic anthem. Goin Out Like That is such a banger I love Restless Road. Better Than Ever remind sme of the them song to the TV show The Wire, ‘Down in the Hole.’ My Dad said the same thing without my saying anything so you know it’s good. Epic vibes. Felt like BigXthaPlug released 1 song a week this year haha but Hell At Night was his best they crushed it. Before Ye Was Republican has such a sick beat and the flow/lyrics are top shelf. Marching captures that Marley energy perfectly and puts Zion on the map as someone to watch for great music in the next few years. My Defender has the kind of singing the gives you chills. Love GIVEON’S music and TWENTIES delivers that high quality we are used to. Sabrina Carpenter is currently the Queen of Fun Bops haha and keeps delivering bangers with Sugar Talking.
Something We Regret has an amazing hook and is fun to sing. dreamsicle just showcases how incredible Maren Morris is. Water My Flowers has such an epic vibe man listening to it gets me ready to fn go lol Sabrina Carpenter takes fun bops to a legitimately great level and that is no more evident than with Manchild. You Always Win another one that I love to sing and sends out the chills. Scared of Getting Sober another epic banger from Josh Ross. Ali Bomaye hits on so many levels it just has such great vibes. All That I Need delivers that thanks and praise Jesus deserves. Skoal, Chevy, and Browning has no right being as great as it is haha it’s essentially a giant ad that I’m sure Morgan Wallen got paid for but damn if it isn’t a grand slam of a song. All This Love sends out great energy and makes you want to sing. Revival is such an epic banger man just a ball of energy. Love that Kacey got to make this with her Grandpa having him do the intro, Lost Highway delivers big time chill vibes. Gareth has exploded on the scene with unreal song after song but Bluebird hits another level. Dusty Bibles is an awesome song and has an incredible message.
Short list of songs that would’ve been on the Top 225 list if they weren’t under 2:25, most I liked hit that thresh hold. In no particular order:

We had some unreal albums released this year that delivered a good portion of the best songs of the year. Level of quality was consistently high.
MORGAN WALLEN – I’m The Problem – I can’t express how thankful I am that he releases a double album every time he releases one bc i cannot get enough great music. It’s legitimately crazy how he can deliver this many songs without any bad ones. There are no skips on this one just like there weren’t on the last 2. The album builds to a peak starting at Missing and it lasts until I Aint Comin Back where it comes down for a smooth landing. Album of the year for sure. Hopefully he can keep himself on a good path bc he is too talented to let it go to waste with dumb behaviour. His catalogue breathes that rarefied air of greatness.
MAREN MORRIS – lemonade – I absolutely love her voice and her best songs just hit on a different level. Every time she releases a song or album I hope that it will sound like her best and that’s exactly what we got with ‘lemonade.’ So many great songs on it delivering that sound and energy I was looking for. When I listen to ‘Cry in the Car’ I always change the lyrics to ‘Eat Fries in the Car’ lol
ALEX WARREN – You’ll Be Alright, Kid– what a debut album man ‘You’ll Be Alright, Kid’ is a double album absolutely packed with the best singing and melodies. Top to bottom this album flies by as you listen bc every song is a home run. Gonna have a good career.
RUSSELL DICKERSON – Famous Back Home – become 1 of my fav country singers bc he just keeps delivering unbelievable quality and all of his songs are fun to sing. He has a great vibe to his music and Famous Back Home delivers more of the same. Top to bottom stacked with bangers.
JUSTIN BIEBER – SWAG II – coming off 1 of the greatest albums of all time ‘Justice’ you knew it wouldn’t be at that level. I’ll admit i was a bit disappointed with SWAG bc i thought there were only a handful of top shelf songs. Then he released SWAG II and it was full of some of the best songs of the year. And on subsequent listens you def appreciate the first half of the album more. Very happy to see 1 of my fav singers deliver again.
SABRINA CARPENTER – Man’s Best Friend – 1 of the best Pop Albums of all time last year so I was pleasantly surprised she was releasing another one this year. Man’s Best Friend wasn’t top to bottom as good as Short n Sweet but the best on it were just as good as the best off Short n Sweet. The Queen of Fun Bop’s man I can’t get enough of them haha
WILL SMITH – Based on A True Story– My boy Will Smith showing that he can still fn go on the mic. Best song of the year off this album and there were multiple bangers on it. Def a great top to bottom listen and it’sa. treat to get to hear Will showcase his rap talents bc he is still 1 of the best.
JULIA MICHAELS- Second Self EP – absolutely love her voice and her vibe I wish she could release a song a week haha I love that she can take something like ‘Go Fuck Yourself’ and turn it into an epic banger. Some of the best songs of the year on this one.
GIVEON – BELOVED – amazing voice so I love when we get new music from him. We were blessed this year he released so many bangers making this album great.
BIGXTHAPLUG – I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY – They are really pushing him hard but I don’t mind bc he was a good, unique rap voice and he released so many great songs this year. His collabs were awesome so hopefully he is here to stay.
MAROON 5 – LOVE IS LIKE – 1 of my fav bands and they dropped another great album. Love the vibe they bring with their music so I def appreciate all the new music we can get from them.
BRYAN ADAMS – ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES – admittedly I only realized this was an album a few weeks ago but the 2 songs I have heard are 2 of the best of the year so I’m confident this is an awesome album. I’ll dig into the rest next year but it’s wild that Bryan Adams can deliver songs that are up there with hsi best at this point in his career.
ED SHEERAN – PLAY – Def a fan of his and really enjoyed this album. It’s a great top to bottom listen for sure. To use baseball terms, Id say this an album full of triples with not as many home runs as we are used to.
THREE DAYS GRACE – ALIENATION– awesome rock album they are making some of their best music. We don’t have enough great Rock music these days so hopefully there will be much more coming.
ADAM DOLEAC – DREAM HOUSE – 1 of the most underappreciated artists in music he makes nothing but bangers but hasn’t had that breakthrough run yet. This album was full of some of the best songs of the year. Would love to see him live so hopefully he comes out this way soon.
KASSI ASHTON – MADE FROM THE DIRT: DELUXE – Technically a 2024 album but the Deluxe version was released this year and was nothing but bangers. 1 of my fav voices I could listen to her music all day and never get sick of it.
ASHLAND CRAFT – DIVE BAR BEAUTY QUEEN – Her last album was amazing so I was really looking forward to this and I was not disappointed. Some of the best songs of the year on it and a great top to bottom listen.
KARLEY SCOTT COLLINS – FLIGHT RISK – absolutely incredible voice and she is always hitting home runs with the songs she releases. This album showcases the best of her talents and is no doubt 1 of the best of the year.
FINGER ELEVEN – LAST NIGHT ON EARTH – another great Rock album from a legendary band. Couldn’t believe how high quality the album was but I was loving it bc we need more great Rock music.
JOSH ROSS – LATER TONIGHT – this album solidifies him as not only 1 of the best Canadian country singers but 1 of the best in all country. Nothing but bangers this is a top shelf album.
SLOAN – BASED ON THE BEST SELLER – They still know how to deliver their trademark sound and Dream Destroyer is 1 of my fav songs they have made. Sounds like it is right out of the 60’s/70’s.
FORREST FRANK – CHILD OF GOD II – amazing to hear such high quality music giving thanks and praise to Jesus. I love every song he releases and this album was a big part of the soundtrack to the summer.
KANE BROWN – THE HIGH ROAD – similar to Ed Sheeran this album was more triples than home runs but he did hit some home runs like ‘Says I Can’ and it’s a great top to bottom listen.
GARETH – STEAL YOUR THUNDER & BLUEBIRD– I cannot believe how this guy just shows up out of nowhere and delivers the highest quality music. Steal Your Thunder is an album of covers and it’s fcking incredible. Bluebird is original songs and every single 1 is a home run. 1 of the best singers on the planet already and I cannot wait to keep filling my playlists with his music.
CHARLEY CROCKETT – LONESOME DRIFTER & DOLLAR A DAY – I’m a huge fan man he is my generations Johnny Cash with his unique baritone voice. Both albums run smooth top to bottom and deliver some of the best songs of the year. Hope to see him live one day soon.
KESHA – . – love her vibe and her music so I was happy to get this album. 2 of the best songs of the year on it and the rest are really good too.
JESSIE MURPH – SEX HYSTERIA – Big fan of her voice and while sometimes her music is not my vibe haha but majority of the time it’s right there and I had a bunch of her hits on repeat this year. Multiple bangers on this album.
ASHLEY COOKE – ace – been a huge fan since I heard her first big hit and she has continued to deliver. This is a great album and her duet with Joe Jonas is a Top 10 song of the year.
ALISON KRAUSS & UNION STATION – ARCADIA – Oh my God I absolutely love the sound and vibe of their music so I cannot express how excited I was to have a full album. It did not disappoint at all it was so fcking good. They are absolute legends.
JONAS BROTHERS – GREETINGS FROM YOUR HOMETOWN – Another great album just solidifies their status as pop music legends. They can deliver solo and group hits. Some of the best songs of the year off this album, really enjoyed it.
CHEAT CODES – FUTURE RENAISSANCE – Insanely high quality on this album I guess this is where the quality Dance/EDM music was hiding haha 1 of my fav bands no doubt
KHALID – AFTER THE SUN GOES DOWN – Can’t lie I was a bit disappointed with his last couple albums but am happy to say this ne is back to the level of quality we expect. Great listen top to bottom with some of the best songs of the year.
TEDDY SWIMS – I’VE TRIED EVERYTHING BUT THERAPY – Wow man this guy is unreal with how many top shelf songs he releases. Incredible voice and he knows how to be his best on almost every song. Amazing album.
MARIAH CAREY – HERE FOR IT ALL – We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy! haha The Queen Diva does it again man this album was awesome. She is already a legend but this album being as good as it is shows how deep her well of talent is. So much respect.
