Canada eliminated at WJHC 2013 – quick comments

#Canada follows up their best game of the tournament with their worst. The rest of the world has invested a lot into their hockey programs over the years and have caught up to us. I’m about to make a really general statement but we need a coaching overhaul at all levels. Our guys look unprepared and mentally weak compared to other teams and that is unacceptable. Coaches at lower levels care too much about winning and not enough about building skill to make players better as they move up. They get 1 or 2 naturally gifted kids and focus everything on them. These other countries don’t have a lot of naturally great players so they have to hammer home the fundamentals of the game to compete. After years of that it’s starting to show as these teams get better and more complete. I could be wrong but thats what i see.

(Response to FB comment) Thing is they aren’t playing with skill and are not making good decisions with the puck, that comes back to coaching. These guys think they can just walk onto any rink and compete with the best without putting in the work. If they were just losing tough games thats 1 thing but they way they are doing it tells me coaching is a problem.

Fans are def not the problem, you have douchers in every aspect of life that blow things out of proportion and throw tantrums when things don’t go their way. Expectations will always be Gold, as they should be considering Hockey is our sport. Most fans know we won’t win every year but as long as we see their best we can accept the results whatever they are. Can’t tell me that was the best this team could put forward.
