A poem for Jesus on Good Friday

Image

On this Friday we speak of Good
As Jesus did as God said he would

To save our souls he had a plan
He would come to Earth and become a man

A normal life he would not live
In him was a gift he had to give

This gift you cannot touch or see
But once received will set you free

Foolish thinking we could save ourselves
As the devil tries to lead us to Hell

Doing all he can to make Gods people scattered
Making us think we were all that mattered

He says forget about God all that matters is you
And too many of us believe it is true

Sin, Death, Chaos, the Devil brought them all
Man proved weak and could not stop the Fall

He brought us temptation and of that we ate
The arrogance of Man had sealed our fate

The devil thought he succeeded and had made God leave us
But he made a big mistake and forgot about Jesus

He saw it all and knew it wasn’t right
He would not let mankind go quietly into the night

He knew we were Good and created out of love
But could not save us from his throne up above

Created a plan and all the Good souls heard it
He would conquer Sin and Death for those who don’t deserve it

His life would be hard to build enough strength
To endure the end through unimaginable pain

After its over the world will be covered in great light
But the devil would not go down without a fight

Try to attack Jesus and overwhelm him with temptation
But the devil is no match for the Lamb of Salvation

He overcame the attacks and came out much stronger
The victory of the devil wouldn’t last much longer

Despite torture and torment Jesus could not be broken
He would fulfill the prophecy his Father had spoken

His journey was over, he had died for our sins
The devil always loses and God always wins

He had risked so much, paid such a high cost
For beings that probably deserved to stay lost

That is why the bond we share with Jesus is so precious
We tried to walk away from God but he would not let us

We must learn to have faith, in God we must trust
He will always be with us no matter what

Thanks to Jesus Heaven is something we all will see
But that doesn’t mean life is consequence free

All things that we do come with a price
And that we must pay at the end of our life

Sin on our soul is like a car covered in rust
A life without Jesus is just shadows and dust

That’s why in this life we must build up strength
Since none of us are perfect we all have to pay

But when the dept is paid and no longer on loan
The Lord will shine his Light and bring us all Home

That is the gift we received from our Messiah
The only reason our souls will get lifted higher

But the devil wont quit he’ll always try something
Obsessed with making sure Jesus died for nothing

Try to bury his sacrifice act like it didn’t happen
But those who know better just end up laughing

B/c its easy to see satan is no match for God’s light
He’s already lost and God hasn’t even entered the fight

They attack in the shadows and run from the battle
B/c the strength of God’s Souljas is more than they can handle

But one day the battlefield will find them with nowhere to run
Life will be over and the day of reckoning will come

And on that day satan will finally pay what he owes
Considering what he’s done I don’t even want to know

To say what will happen for sure I do not dare
But think it’s safe to say our punishment will not compare

Not that we deserve it, our hearts can be so hateful
But we were saved out of love and for that I’m forever grateful

For the rest of my days on Earth I will try to live my life
To try to make you proud and justify your sacrifice

Despite attacks from the devil he will not bring me down
My soul belongs to the Lord nothing he can do now

In each of our hearts God built a foundation of love
No matter what always have faith that Good will overcome

It all comes back to Jesus, he is the one who saves
For everything he did he deserves our Thanks and praise

So again I say thank you, we will always tell your story
The Messiah, my Saviour, the true King of Glory
