Haven’t commented on WWE in awhile but there is a reason. After writing my last piece, I realized i was part of the group of fans that keeps WWE from getting better. You see I love wrestling so much that I will watch/spend money whether its good or bad, no matter what. WWE knows this and takes advantage of it, why always try to get better and risk failure when you can tread water and just be good enough(if that). They don’t care about what people like me think as long as we talk about them bringing awareness to the product, spend money on the product, etc… So until Vince ends this variety show bullshit I’m not gonna waste my time commenting or sending money on em. Just these random thoughts from time to time and maybe one day they’ll wake up and start kicking ass again. Enjoy!
– Roman Reigns is gonna be a superstar but its too much too soon for him, he isn’t ready. He isn’t even as over as Ryback was at his height yet. His main event push should be a slow burn, not fast food. Needs time to improve his mic skills, get better as a singles wrestler and develop more of a connection with the fans.
– it might be a moot point due to injury but imagine how things might be if they had given Daniel Bryan the push they are giving Reigns.
– Reports that Cesaro is having his push killed to keep all focus on Reigns isn’t going to help esp as we get closer to WrestleMania and crowds get rowdier
– Can we finally end the ‘Paul Heyman is the greatest manager ever’ rhetoric. Cesaro regressed after being paired with Heyman, he did nothing for Axel or Ryback. If your name isn’t Brock Lesnar or CM Punk he can’t do shit
– Post-WrestleMania couldn’t have been worse for Daniel Bryan. Dad passes away, brutally awful feud with Kane and can’t defend the Title due to crippling injury. Now reports say recovery is not going well and he may need another neck surgery as well as shoulder surgery. Not exactly where we all thought the YES! movement was heading. Get well DB!
– Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose have stepped up BIGTIME and really have something special building not just with their feud but with their respective singles careers. This feud could put them both on the map for good.
– Dean Ambrose really reminds me of Brian Pillman, he has the intensity and is starting to connect with the crowd in the same way. Might be time to hand down the ‘Loose Cannon’ nickname.
– Amazing to see the growth in Seth Rollins since his debut but even more so since turning on the Shield, He is a commanding presence on screen and is more than holding his own with established main eventers. Can’t wait to see him cash in his MITB contract
– Bo Dallas victory lap is the greatest thing in WWE haha but seriously a few weeks ago when he ran through El Torito during the lap was 1 of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on WWE. Hopefully they give this streak lots of time to breathe, could be great
– unfortunately like so many others, Bray Wyatt had his momentum killed by Super Cena but he will still be fine, too good. Just a shame BC Bray is one of the best characters we have seen in a long time and has the crowd in his hands. Hope Jericho can do what Cena couldn’t and get Bray to the next level
– Wyatt’s vs Usos has been a great feud, awesome matches. Wyatt’s prob don’t need Titles but it would be a great thing for the Tag division that is once again in trouble.
– I was afraid they wouldn’t know what to do with Adam Rose and sure enough, they don’t. It’s an interesting character, tough to book but if done right could be a big hit
– love the idea of Stardust but the execution so far is hit and miss. Cody has always reminded me of Frank Gorshin ‘The Riddler’ from old school Batman, thats how I want to see Stardust played. Gorshins riddler with Cody putting his own twist on it could be big money, study those tapes!
– I saw something special in Rusev from day 1 but he is proving it, this angle is getting over. The addition of Swagger was a surprise but has been awesome, really embracing and running with his babyface role. Will be interesting to see if he can keep it going post-Rusev feud
– can you imagine the reaction if months down the road an undefeated Rusev is standing in the ring when…..Kurt Angles music hits. Pure insanity, esp if it was in Pittsburgh.
– too many talents being wasted that could/should be contributing at a higher level with Dolph Ziggler leading the pack
– been enjoying the Divas lately, girls are really workin hard. AJ/Paige have great chemistry as both friend and foe. Add in Emma, Natalya, and we could have some seriously great matches. IF they let em work.
– WWE makes tons of cuts to offset the disappointing Network numbers, they are Pros at trimming the fat to make things look better than they are. Instead of doing everything but making the product better, how bout you try and MAKE THE PRODUCT BETTER!
I think that’s enough for now, SummerSlam needs to be a home run esp with the first 6-month Network commitments expiring right away. As bad as things seem at times, its still easy to turn it around. They have the horses, just need to let em loose.
