Welp we are less than a week away from WrestleMania 33 and I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about it. Love this time of year, my life won’t be complete until I have sat front row and get me a damn chair. Despite the ongoing frustrations with the product, to stop watching doesn’t work. For various reasons I only read results from 06ish to WM 25 and it arguably got worse so just gotta deal with it. Thought we could wait out the ‘Make Roman Look Strong’ era but much like the LOLCENAWINS era, sounds like it ain’t ending anytime soon. Man if they had just given Daniel Bryan the 2014 Rumble win instead of Batista, there would be no backlash towards Roman and this push would be working great. But they didn’t and now he has to fight through it. Oh well. The thing people need to remember is wrestling requires face/heel reactions, Variety Show requires a reaction. Don’t like this Reigns push? Don’t react. Anyways, on to Mania.
Brock vs Goldberg(c) – Im hoping for a first round finish for sure, interested to see who takes it but looks like Brock, has to make Roman look strong. Goldberg on his best run since his first title win, too bad it is comin to an end. Just think if he had come in and lit HHH up like this in 2003, would have been huge money. But this will have that big match feel, looking forward to it.
Bray Wyatt(c) vs RKO – Pumped for this, just hope they put em on last. Def the true main event of the show. Deserves it and they should have the crowd with em. Really nobody to boo, its a nice tentpole moment for Randys career if he wins and it could make Brays career if he does so either way its good.
KO vs Jericho(c) – Cant wait for this, been a great great run just wish they had saved the physical contact for Mania. But these 2 are not gonna be an afterthought. They are gonna kick it up notch to try and steal the show. Wouldnt bet against them
Bayley (c) vs Charlotte vs Sasha vs Nia – Ugh should be Bayleys moment here, 1 of the main reasons I wanted to watch. Really hoping she retains. Match will be good but need to get back to 1v1
Gallows/Anderson(c) vs Sheamus/Cesaro vs Enzo/Cass – so we will be getting a Ladder match and it should be awesome. Not sure who will take it all 3 deserve to win, Enzo/Cass winning would be a great moment but I’m down with any of em.
Neville(c) vs AA – Rey/Eddy HH97 is the bar, they did it in 14min. Prob wont get that much but if they do look out. Unfortunately won’t be on the main show but that means they should get enough to deliver something epic. Hope everyone gets to their seats in time, gonna be a good day to be great and a bad day to be Neville.
Reigns/Taker – been awhile since Taker was in a bathroom break match but I have 0 interest in seeing Reigns beat him. I will be outside in a safety meeting. Rumors it’s gonna be the main event are disappointing, will make it harder to avoid. This ‘Make Roman Look Strong’ push is insane. Taker x2 and Sting had to eat WM losses. And he still aint there yet. Only good thing to come out of it might be a Cena feud, would be funny to see Cena get huge babyface reactions vs Reigns. Rumors saying this is Takers last Mania make me rethink not watching but I really dont want to see this.
The Andre – Seems to be Stromans to lose but dammit Kofi needs a big battle royal win. With New Day as hosts its the perfect time. New Day vs Braun feud could be an interesting dynamic post-Mania. Travesty it’s on the pre show, esp if it’s Big Show’s last WM. Losing Taker and Show in 1 night would def suck.
AJ vs Shane – last few weeks have given me interest in this match but can Shane still go at the level he needs to for this to be great? Shane steps up in big match situations and AJ is prob best in the world right now, don’t think we will be disappointed.
Cena/Nikki vs Miz/Maryse – seems like a waste of Cena but feud has been good. Match should be memorable. I wonder if Miz was told to hold back or if he had fredom to say what he wanted. If he had that freedom wow did he get destroyed, if not I’d def be pissed having to stand there and take some serious verbal shots wo firing back. Very interested to see how match goes, does Cena just crush him? Sucks Nikki is having neck issues, hope she makes it through all good.
HHH/Rollins – long, great build to this one. Last few weeks have been fire. Will be interesting to see how the match is laid out. HHH might struggle with a faster pace so knee injury is prob good for match quality. I need HHH to break out the Indian Deathlock lol love that sub. Given their ‘Make Roman look Strong’ mentality, I bet HHH wins. Only 1 Shield member can beat HHH at Mania.
Ambrose(c) vs Corbin – should be a comin out party for Corbin. Might not get much time so has to be fast n furious. Sleeper match on the card.
The Usos vs American Alpha – Not happening but it should be.
SD! Womens Title – Pumped this is back on the main show, they deserve it SD! Womens div has been fire. Big moment for Alexa Bliss walking in as champ but after that huge reaction she got on SD! I think Naomi is walking out champ. Should be great.
Looks like that is your card, pretty solid top to bottom. Def more optimistic heading into this one than that last 2 although 31 turned out to be a great show. As always mine would have looked a bit different but we can’t all be billionaires lol so I’ll settle for enjoying this one. With a few key matches looking to be short in length, should give lots of time for the potential show stealers to make their mark. Goldberg/Lesnar should be very short, Reigns/Taker should prob bout 15 min, HHH/Rollins might not go as long as they would have pre injury, no multi man Ladder match, no Rock segment hopefully unless its with The New Day which would get 2 birds stoned at once. So after considering all that I will be disappointed if the key matches don’t get lots of time.
Hope everyone has a great time watching WrestleMania wherever you are watching it, as frustrating as it can be I wouldnt want to live in a world without it. Cheers to everyone attending live, super jealous but one day I will join you haha don’t drink and drive if you’re out somewhere watching it.
