TOP 224 OF 2024 + ALBUMS OF 2024 + YEAR END AWARDS
2024 is almost over and it will go down as another legendary year in music alongside 2021. The quality of the albums released this year was unbelievable and the singles released were right up there with them. Across all genres we heard greatness delivered from some of the greatest singers in music as well as new talent currently establishing themselves. Although I feel 2024 was the weakest overall year for dance/EDM music, it still delivered what might be the greatest dance/EDM track of the 2020’s so this was definitely a legendary year. One of the things that made 2021 stand out was the number of top artists in the world that are expected to be great delivering exactly that and we got more of the same in 2024. Kacey Musgraves with an all timer of an album. Post Malone delivering 1 of the greatest Country albums of all time with his first shot. Beyonce making a Country album with some off the top sings of the year on it. Jess Glynne delivering an absolute banger of an album after 6 years. Taylor Swift crushing another album. Lainey Wilson and Luke combs further establishing their GOAT level greatness. Twisters with an all timer of a soundtrack. And it goes on and on proving that 2024 was a special year for music.
It was a brutal cut down this year considering how many great songs were released but I managed to somehow get it down the Top 224 of 2024. It’s not an exact science or anything and i’m sure the rankings would change significantly if I did it again but I can say that at 1 point or another each of these songs was my favourite and I couldn’t make a top songs list without them. This song highlights everything great about Kacey Musgraves and takes it’s place amongst the top of her catalogue. High, high, high by Camylio goes straight for the soul and finds it’s target. Cutting Loose by Disco Lines Feat J Worra, Anabel England might be the best dance banger of the 2020’s which is saying something given the high quality the 2020’s have produced. Twenty One by Ollie Joseph feat Jeb Bundy is the newest vessel to sail the nostalgic waters man what a fn great song. Good News by Shaboozey came in late but wow the lyrics and melody hit hard enough to quickly establish itself as 1 of the best of the year. Somebody’s Child by Blessing Offer feat Dolly Parton is one you just can’t help but smile listening to, Blessing’s vocals are incredible and Dolly’s still got it.
Killed A Man by Post Malone is the best song off of 1 of the greatest Country albums of all time. Storytelling on the highest level with an outlaw melody man what a fn song. hummingbird by Carly Pearce has such an epic feel with her incredible vocals leading the way. Flower Child by Kacey Musgraves is so much fun and feels like it takes you on a journey to a better time. Arm’s Length by Kacey Musgraves is exactly what we have come to expect from her, amazing vocals and storytelling to a peaceful melody. Slim Pickins by Sabrina Carpenter is the best song off of her awesome album and it’s an anthem for those of us still single lol Go To Bed Sober by Ryan Hurd feat Sasha Alex Sloan is the perfect collab and man that hook is fire. Pour Me A Drink by Post Malone feat Blake Shelton is gonna be a summer anthem for decades. To Hell With The Devil by for KING & COUNTRY feat Lacrae, Styper gets me so fired up to kick some demonic ass haha Never Love You Again by Post Malone feat Sierra Ferrell is that perfect song to sing while you slow dance to.
Sober Up by Quinn XCII is a fun song to sing and reminds you how good he is. Heaven II by Julia Michaels is another home run from her man she always brings such a good vibe with her music. Seconds Away by Jamie Fine showcases the best of her talents. What It Means by elijah woods brings that peaceful yet epic vibe. Please Please Please by Sabrina Carpenter puts the pop back in pop music haha such a fun track. Can You Die From A Broken Heart by Nate Smith feat Avril Lavigne blew me away with how good it was, I think Avril needs to make a Country album next. All Glory To God by Dee-1 feat Project Pat is the best Rap track of the year and it’s all Glory for Jesus! Take It Back (Fire version) by Tauren Wells feat Davies is an anthem track and another one that gets me fired up to bring the fight to the devil. Nosedive by Post Malone feat Lainey Wilson lives up to the hype created by 2 of the best combining for this great song. A Bar Song(Tipsy) by Shaboozey is an absolute banger and the type of song that can make careers.
Remember Him That Way by Luke Combs shows why he is the current King of Country and can bring tear to my eye thinking about my Dad. One Beer Away by The Reklaws is one of the best bangers of the summer, makes you want to have a good time. I hope I never fall in love by Maren Morris is a hurricane of a vocal performance man she is something else. Deliverance by Bryann T shows off the best of Christian Hip Hop. daydrinkin’ by The Dryes is ridiculously fun to sing and 1 of the best Country bangers of the year. About Gone by Adam Doleac establishes that he is vocally one of the best male voices in Country music. Hearts & Horses by Dawson Anderson man what a fn awesome song that you can’t help but sing along to. LEVII’S JEANS by Beyonce feat Post Malone is the perfect mashup of the Country/Pop/R&B styles Beyonce brings and combined with Post Malone delivers an absolute banger. Addictions by Warren Zeiders is an intense track with incredible vocals. Over You By Now by Troy Cartwright is a blast to belt out. Happy Hurts by Warren Zeiders is another home run with that outlaw broken heart style if that is a thing haha Wrong Kind of Keeping Me Up by Ashland Craft continues her impressive streak of having a top song every year with this great track.
We Don’t Have That Anymore by Karley Scott Collins sends out the chills with these amazing vocals. Enough by Jess Glynne is a fn great song with a great message. Three Little Birds by Kacey Musgraves man what an incredible cover of this iconic song with a vibe only Kacey can bring. Killers of the Flower Moon by Charley Crockett oh my God what an awesome song, I could listen to that guitar picking all day LFG haha Big Blue Sky by Jackson Dean was one of my fav songs to sing this year, so great. Man of the House by Kaleb Sanders is fantastic tribute to all the Wive’s holding down the fort while their husbands are out grinding. Everybody Knows I’m High by SHAED is a GOAT level stoner song and was 1 of the songs of the summer. How Smart I Am by Troy Cartwright is impossible not to sing along to and establishes Troy as a top level singer. Unconditional by Quinn XCII shows that he belongs on the mountaintop level. RIP by bodie is another banger that combines a great song with a great message. Say It Isn’t True by Jess Glynne is why I’m so thankful she released more music, a song like this deserves have life in the world. Call Me When You Get Home Friends by Tenille Arts was at the top of the soundtrack for the summer, awesome song. Too Good Too Be True by Kacey Musgraves closes out the top 50 with an incredible song that delivers the good vibes.

In some ways I’m thankful the lower run time made the cut down for the Top 224 of 2024 easier haha still so many bangers but now I’ll move on to the albums and man there were so many great ones helping to make this a legendary year.
TOP ALBUMS OF 2024
Kacey Musgraves – Deeper Into The Well
– This album solidifies Kacey as one of the greatest musical artists of all time. The quality she delivered top to bottom, no tracks that could be skipped and multiple songs at the top of the Top Songs of the year list puts her on a level breathing rarified air.
Sabrina Carpenter – Short and Sweet
– Very cool to see someone come into their own and realize their potential and Sabrina does just that with this album. She has released bangers before but to deliver an album of this quality with multiple top songs of the year, silences the doubters and establishes her as the next great pop star. This isn’t just fluff, there is substance to these songs and every song is good, it is def a no skip album.
Post Malone – F1Trillion – Long Bed
– I was absolutely blown away by the quality of this album, I knew there would be good songs but could never have expected what we got. This is truly 1 of the greatest country albums of all time with the first half full of incredible collabs and the second half on his own crushing every track including the best song on the album Killed A Man.
Jess Glynne – JESS
– After 6 years we finally got another album from Jess and man was it worth the wait. Not only was this album absolutely incredible top to bottom but it accomplished the rare feat of gaining entry to the Greatest 3 Song Run list: Save Your Tears-What Do You Do?-Say It Isn’t True. No doubt 1 of the best in the world and I just pray it doesn’t take 6 years for another one haha
Charley Crockett – $10 Cowboy & Visions of Dallas
– Man we def hot the jack pot with not 1 but 2 great albums this year. $10 Cowboy prob the better album but Visions of Dallas has the best song so it’s the best of both worlds haha his voice reminds me of Johnny Cash so I’m glad he keeps delivering high quality.
Kelsea Ballerini – Patterns
Awesome album from Kelsea Ballerini that is def in the convo for her best top to bottom effort. She just keeps getting better and this album is proof of that.
Taylor Swift – The Tortured Poets Department
– This is an incredible top to bottom album that continues to show off her greatness. While I don’t feel there are any songs that are exciting on their own where you gotta listen over and over, the greatness of this album comes out when you listen to the entire thing. But that’s why no entries on the top 224 of 2024 list. I just hope she moves back towards her old style of fun, catchy hooks combined with great singing and storytelling.
Natalie Madigan – No Feeling Is Final
– So thankful I discovered her music a few years ago bc I would have missed out on great music like this. Amazing voice and multiple great tracks on this one.
Jelly Roll – Beautifully Broken
– Been awesome to watch Jelly Roll continue to rise up in the music industry. Nails all the features he is on, almost become the Nate Dogg of Country the way he is crushin hooks haha but he is more than just features and this album proves it with multiple entries on the top songs of the year list.
Thomas Rhett – About A Woman
– You can always count on Thomas Rhett to deliver some of the best songs of the year when he drops an album and that streak continues with this one. Def 1 of the best in Country.
Lainey Wilson – Whirlwind
– Nobody can say Lainey isn’t still grinding for her fame, could have easily coasted for another year off her last album but instead goes back to work and drops this banger of an album. Multiple top songs on it and is a great listen top to bottom. Firmly establishes her as the Queen of Country right now.
Anne Wilson – REBEL
– Amazing album. Just a shame that she has to be a trump/far right supporter and corrupt her amazing voice and the amazing words she sings.
Twisters Soundtrack
– Best soundtrack of the year for sure although I’m sure Wicked fans will have something to say haha but man this was a no skip album and delivered some of the best songs of the year which is pretty incredible for a soundtrack.
Pearl Jam – Dark Matter
– I was so hoping this album would be good and damn did they hit a home run. Nailed that Pearl Jam sound you expect and gave us classic Rock fans something new to sink our teeth into. Delivered some of the top songs of the year and gave the top song playlists a much needed rock influence.
Shaboozey – Where I’ve Been Isn’t Where I’m Going
– Amazing album, his star is shining bright off multiple songs on the top songs list including 1 in the top 5. Love his style so I’m excited to see his career head towards the highest levels.
Brynn Cartelli – Out of the Blue
– What a voice she has and it is showcased beautifully on this album. Multiple great songs, love to see high quality music from Canadian talent.
Ariana Grande – eternal sunshine
– Not my fav album of hers but still a really good album. Nothing bad on this one.
USHER – COMING HOME
– Still bringing that fire, so many bangers on this album.
Justin Timberlake – Everything I Thought I Was
– Good album with a few great songs that stand out
Chris Renzema – Manna
– 1 of my fav voices delivering more Glory for Jesus, great album.
Jennifer Lopez – This Is Me…Now
– Kinda awkward now that her and Ben Affleck aren’t together haha but there are def some good songs on this one
Wild Rivers – Never Better
– 1 of the best Canadian bands right now delivering another great album with multiple tracks on the top songs of the year list.
Elley Duhe – PHOENIX
– Incredible album, her voice and style are so unique and bring out her greatness on the highest level. So many great songs it made cutting down the top 224 list very hard haha
Beyonce – COWBOY CARTER
– I wish Beyonce had done this album like Post Malone did his album and put her whole ass into making Country music bc half the album was Country while the other half was not. The Country half was amazing and delivered multiple top songs of the year. The other half was not good and hurt the overall perception of this album. But she proved that if she ever makes an album that is 100% her style of Country/Pop/R&B, they won’t be able to deny her greatness anymore.
Warren Zeiders – Pretty Little Poison & Relapse
– Love his voice and the style of music he makes so I feel blessed we got these 2 awesome albums back to back. Multiple songs on the top songs list and it was tough to deny the ones that didn’t make it bc the guy is so fn good.
Billie Eiliish – HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
– Another great one from Billie as she delivers some of the top songs of the year. Love her vibe and uniqueness and that I get to enjoy her prime.
The Black Keys – Ohio Players
– Awesome rock album, Beautiful People(Stay High) was 1 of my fav songs of the year and it was fn tough to leave off the ones that didn’t make the cut.
Kameron Marlowe – Keeping The Lights On
- Great album man and this is why I love the Voice, it puts guys like Kameron Marlowe on the map and bc of that the great music on this album gets a life. Multiple top songs of the year but is also a good listen top to bottom.
Carly Pearce – hummingbird
– If this isn’t her best album then it is def my favourite, so many fn great songs including 1 in the top 10. Happy to hear her crush this one.
Luke Combs – Fathers & Sons
– Absolutely love this concept and man did he smash a home run. Remember Him That Way not only a top song of the year but def going on my all time fav list. That’s why he is the current King of Country.
Bon Jovi – Forever
– Love that they are still crushing it man really good album.
Camila Cabelo – C,XOXO(Magic Edition)
- Great album as always with multiple songs on the top songs of the year list. Glad she released the deluxe edition bc it had some bangers on it.
Troy Cartwright – Bygones
- Awesome album with 2 songs in the top 50 on the top songs of the year list. When he hits a home run on a song he is 1 of the best in the business. Hoping his star continues to rise and it will if he keeps putting out quality like this.
Valley – Water The Flowers, Pray For a Garden
– Great effort from a great Canadian band man Valley just continues to put out top quality. So thankful I saw their performance at Grey Cup 2022 bc I became an instant fan and they haven’t let me down yet.
Danielle Bradbury – Danielle
– Absolutely love her voice, she is another reason I’m thankful for the Voice bc now this music has a life and we are def better off for hearing it. Great top to bottom effort with some of the top songs of the year.
The Offspring – SUPERCHARGED
– Fcking love that they can deliver that trademark Offspring sound and crush albums like this. All around great album with some stand out songs.
Quinn XCII – Lunch EP
– Unbelievable quality on this one with almost every song on the top songs list and not was very tough to justify cutting the others. Under-appreciated talent for sure bc he is truly 1 of the best in music.
Rvshvd – IT’S RASHAD
– Really good album, been enjoying his singles over the years so I was happy to see him put out an album of his own.
The Reklaws – Outliving (For Mom)
– Love that they put out this album for their Mom, I know it will help some people deal with their mental health better.
Gwen Stefani – Bouquet
- Last album of the year to make the cut and man was it a home run. Gwen has found something with the sound she delivered on this album bc she crushed it with multiple songs on the top songs of the year list. Great job top to bottom. Happy for her and excited for us haha
