Dear 18 year old Jason,
Today is our 40th birthday and you’ll be happy to know we are still alive and healthy haha but I know what you will want to know next and unfortunately, we do not have a wife and kids yet. Some close calls but nothing that really got going although not for a lack of trying haha dont get too down bc you’ll be blown away about how many people we have in our life that love us. We eventually moved out after Mum n Dad moved to Regina and bounced around from party houses to apartments to friends place to a mattress in a living room lol but we moved back home to Regina to help Mum n Dad and still live there but it’s awesome. We are best friends with Dad and still hit up the movie theatres for every big movie, have made so many delicious meals, go for wings together, watch TV shows together, go to every Rider game with our season tickets, if we couldn’t be with a wife and kids, this is the next best spot, trust me. A war in Afghanistan will start and Mum will do 2 tours there but on the last one will return home with severe PTSD and another long battle will start. But you’ll be excited to know she is fighting really hard and has made incredible progress, us being there is a big part of it but she does all the ass kicking. We finally got a dog named Zoe and she was the best thing that ever happened to our family. We had to say goodbye to her last year and it was one of the toughest days. But we were so much better off having her as our dog.

We aren’t a father but you’ll be excited to know we are not a virgin lol quality over quantity but we can truly say we have love for every woman we have connected with on that level. We have a very important role as Uncle to many people including D’Arcy and Jessica’s kids, and here’s a little surprise, your older sister Tricia’s son lol yes you have an older sister that was given up for adoption when Mum was young but found her way back to us and we are all building a very strong bond. You will have great times going to concerts and all kinds of events with your nephew Dom and niece Emma(Frankie). You have chosen family that have given you unconditional support that was crucial to us getting to 40 so happy and healthy, they mean as much to you as if they were our own blood. Every July 1st we get together with Uncle Gary’s family and have had the most amazing times together and they all got us a leather Winnipeg Jets jacket! Oh yeah the Jets are back in Winnipeg lol the bond with our Uncle and cousins is one of the most important in our life and we do not take it for granted. We have friends that love us so much and were there for us in our darkest hours, and unfortunately there is darkness coming. Some very tragic deaths will rock you but you will get through it thanks to family and friends.

We go to college and become a Massage Therapist, you will absolutely love the job and in college will meet some of the most important people in your life that are still there to this day. As a massage therapist, we make a huge impact on a countless number of patients from saving a patients dream to be an RCMP officer to helping a patient stop using her cane to finally giving relief to patients that have been in tears due to headaches and it just goes on and on. We have been very blessed in this job. Here’s something crazy, you will become a rapper lol D’Arcy will record a song called Sunday Night with Pat and Cody and you will be so inspired that you try it yourself. Rough at first lol but you get the hang of it and become pretty good. You will perform on stage multiple times with your brothers. You will get to see a physical CD with art you made yourself and will sell over 100 copies for $10 each and trust me that cash will come in handy at times lol you will make an album with D’Arcy that gets hundreds of downloads bc music moves away from physical CDs. We win a Pro Line ticket worth $84,917.88, yes you read that right lol surprisingly very little of the money is wasted, we buy a mustang called the Captain and it is a dream of a car. We buy a TV/surround sound/Blu Ray player that we still use to this day, Mum n Dad still use the Fridge and Stove we buy them. God was so good to us that day. Takes almost 20 years but another wrestling company is created that is on a WWE level. Lots of frustration at times but you’ll enjoy the great wrestling coming up.

But the single most amazing and important thing that will happen to you is the moment that God reveals himself to you. I’m not going to spoil it but you will realize what a special gift it is and allow God to lead your life in some interesting directions. You will learn about the select few that have had God reveal himself to them and it will fortify your will to succeed. Your relationship with Jesus will become stronger than ever. The Holy Spirit will fill you with all the gifts that come with it and you will use them to discover spiritual and worldly truths that will blow your mind. You will discover great Christian minds like CS Lewis that will fill you with crucial information that will help you spiritually understand things on another level. This will lead you to making a Christian Hip Hop album with D’Arcy to bring Glory to Jesus name and showcase D’Arcy’s rap talent, he really is one of the best in the world. D’Arcy will have some very dark times but man you will be so beyond proud watching him use Jesus to crawl out of the darkness and shine brighter than you ever thought possible. He is an amazing Father and Husband. Jessica has her health issues but fights as much as she can and you will be emotional watching her be a great Mum.

So while we aren’t living the life I know you are dreaming of, make no mistake about it, we have a damn good life. We couldn’t have a stronger relationship with Jesus, our family and friends. We have a great career where we get to help people every day. We get to spend quality time with Mum n Dad that most kids never get with their parents. And God could deliver a wife and kids to us at any moment, but we couldn’t do so many important things we have done with a wife and kids so if our dream comes true, this was the absolute best path and I wouldn’t change a thing. But I gotta drop some advice so here goes:

– bet everything you have on the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl this year and their back up QB Tom Brady to win Super Bowl MVP. I know it sounds crazy but trust me lol

– attend the 2009 Grey Cup and when Montreal goes to kick the game winning FG, run on the field and tell the Riders they have too many men

-Buy Apple, Google, Amazon, Tesla stock as soon as you see it

Lol had to do it but really the only real pieces of advice I have is 1- GO TO THE GYM lol and 2- when the time comes, kiss her

You’ll be happy to know that we eventually get in great shape although it’s def a back n forth process but we work really hard to stay young which gives us a shot to realize our dream of being a Father and Husband after 40. We hit 100lbs in straight arm bicep curl countdown and can lift the max on all the machines we use. Today we will spend the day with D’Arcy’s family and then attend an AEW show featuring CM Punk vs Samoa Joe with us in the 4th row on the floor, camera side with Dom and D’arcy or Dad. It’s gonna be a legendary night with a match like Punk/Joe plus Ricky Starks/PowerHouse Hobbs, FTR/Bullet Club Gold and Willow Nightengale/Athena and to have it on our 40th bday is just incredible. The owners at the clinic we work at brought us a cake after work yesterday, we are so blessed. So don’t be down, know that there has been so much good in our life and so much to come. I’ll keep doing everything I can to make sure we can have a high quality of life for as long as possible. My goal is to live into our 130’s and be vibrant and active up to at least 93, after 93 it’s time to just chill and be old, watch movies/TV and smoke weed lol oh yeah we do that now too. I know, i know but shut up, it’s awesome and you are very misinformed haha

When you add it all up, I don’t think we have done that bad. We can honestly say we are trying to be the best version of ourselves every day and try hard not to have negative interactions with anyone. Being the best version of yourself and being loved by so many, that’s not a life to be ashamed about. So don’t be down about where we are in life, it’s been great and there is still so much more to come.
